I spend almost GHc20,000 on fuel for my school buses every week – Lilwin
Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin has bemoaned the present hardships in the country.
He tells Giovani Caleb on Showbiz360 about his struggles to keep his school running in the current state of the economy.
“If it weren’t for God, I would have closed down. For the past two months, I pay more than Ghc6,000 to fill one bus four times a week. It does not last until Friday. It finishes on Thursday. So every week, I buy fuel for almost Ghc20,000.
“Because the cars are ten with three big buses, costing about Ghc3,500 to Ghc4,500 each. But now it’s almost Ghc6,000.”
The founder of Great Minds International School, Kwadwo Nkansah LilWin, also highlighted why he decided to subsidize his tuition so that parents who are struggling to make ends meet can afford to enroll their children in the school.
He remarked that his failure to finish his studies motivated him to strive and achieve the ambitions of other underprivileged children.
He also advised people to keep their humanity and show compassion to others during these trying times.
“If someone tells you they are facing financial troubles, don’t get angry. They are the ones in their situation. If you have one child, your problems are different. Another with four children also has a different set of problems.”
