Kasoa-Weija road: 50 people injured in an accident involving 4 cars

About 50 church members of Resurrection Power New Generation Church have sustained various degrees of injuries following an accident involving four cars.
The incident happened at Menskrom Weija Junction on the Accra-Kasoa highway, on Sunday.
The four vehicles include a police officer’s Toyota Vitz, a KIA Rio taxi, an old Benz, and a bus that carried members of the Resurrection Power New Generation Church.
According to eyewitnesses, the police officer who was traveling from the Kasoa tollbooth to Accra took a bad overtake and crossed the tata bus as a result, which caused the accident.
The church bus and two other vehicles that were parked along the roadside were struck by the police officer’s car as it approached the Weija junction traffic light.
Several eyewitnesses blamed the police officer in the Toyota Vitz for the collision.
According to an eyewitness, two church members are believed to be dead and numerous others have critical injuries.
There were about 50 individuals on the bus, including children. The taxi driver, whose vehicle was damaged, blamed the crash on the officer as well.
The Ghana Fire Service and a police force were on the site to ensure free flow of traffic.
