Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has joined his Black Stars teammates in preparation for their upcoming doubleheader against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Accompanying him to camp is Simon Murphy, Arsenal’s lead performance physiotherapist.
Arsenal are currently vying for their first English Premier League title in 19 years and currently sit eight points ahead of Manchester City, who are following closely behind under the leadership of Pep Guardiola.
Partey has played a pivotal role in the resurgence of Arteta’s team, and as a result, Arsenal seems hesitant to take any risks with the 29-year-old, who has a history of sustaining injuries from even the slightest of knocks.
Partey is set to begin training in the evening with the team who are currently preparing ahead of their first game under new manager Chris Hughton.
The Black Stars will welcome Angola on Thursday, March 23, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium before travelling to Luanda for the second leg.
They are currently tied on points with Angola with both teams having four points each with Madagascar and Central African Republic beneath.
