As the constituents of Assin North in the Central Region vote today to elect a new representative in parliament, the National Communications Officer of the opposition NDC, Sammy Gyamfi has described the NPP candidate as a political prostitute.
Mr. Sammy Gyamfi made the statement at Assin Breku on Tuesday morning when he accompanied the NDC candidate for the by-election, James Gyakye Quayson to cast his vote amidst a huge entourage.
Speaking to reporters at the voting center, Sammy Gyamfi disclosed that Mr. Charles Opoku, the NPP candidate in the by-election is not properly affiliated to any political party in the country.
He further revealed that prior to the Assin North by-elections, Mr. Charles Opoku contacted the executives of the NDC requesting that he represent the party.
Upon failure of his attempt, Sammy Gyamfi noted that Charles Opoku then approached the NPP where he was accepted hence labeling him as a “political prostitute.”
When pushed to provide evidence, he stated that he is in possession of the WhatsApp chats to that effect.
