Dr. Bawumia suspends campaign over ongoing limited registration exercise

The campaign team of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has announced a suspension of activities.

According to a press release on Saturday, September 23, the decision has been taken in order to enable the Vice President visit some centers in the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.

“Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will use the campaign break to visit selected EC Registration centers and encourage all party faithful to focus on mobilizing eligible persons to register for their voter’s ID card,” the release signed by Spokesperson Dr Gideon Boako said.

“The campaign entreats all party members to take note and work hard to achieve each constituency’s registration target.”

Dr Bawumia had been in the Western North Region, where he visited the Enchi district of the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) to monitor the exercise, which is scheduled to end on Monday, October 2.

He has, however, been campaigning ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Primary on Saturday, November 4.
