Ghanaian highlife musician Rex Omar has declared his support for former president John Mahama’s 24-hour economy plan, noting that the policy is well structured unlike the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s Free Senior High School policy.

The “Abiba” singer emphasized that the former president’s proposed 24-hour economy is not intended to bring about instant, wholesale changes, but rather gradual reforms that will benefit Ghanaians.

He explained, “When we say we’re going to initiate a 24-hour economy, it doesn’t mean everything will change overnight suddenly.”

Drawing a comparison with the Free SHS initiative, Omar expressed his belief that the 24-hour policy would be implemented gradually, addressing various aspects step by step.

“I don’t think this idea will be wholesale like Free SHS so people will sit down and there’s a committee that has been put in place to deal with this issue.

“It’ll be dealt with step by step according to how it’ll benefit the country for it to achieve the aim set for it, so the most important thing is the idea,” Rex Omar emphasized.
