The police have intensified strategic move to bolster public safety during the festive season and beyond across the country, an official statement said.
To achieve this purpose, the law enforcement body said, it has increased police vehicular, motorbike and horse patrols, and heightened visibility in most of the metropolis in Ghana including Kumasi.
“This deployment aims to ensure a secure environment for residents and their properties during the Yuletide,” the police said in a statement.
A comprehensive rollout of motorbikes, horses and dogs (K9 Unit) patrols are set to sweep across the entire country, systematically extending coverage region by region and ensuring that every corner of the nation benefits from increased police presence during the festive season and beyond, the service added.
Meanwhile, the IGP George Akuffo Dampare and his senior officers have held stakeholder engagements with traders among other groups to assess security situation at the various markets.
