Earlier today, social media was flooded with congratulatory messages for popular Nigerian chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey popularly known as Hilda Baci after cooking for the past 87 hours.

The TV producer and head cook at FoodbyHilda had been cooking for four days and four nights to break the 87 hours, 45 minutes record set by Chef Lata Tondon in Rewa, India in 2019.

Hilda was working towards setting a new record of 96-hour which was due before the close of the day.

However, in the heat of the moment and with congratulatory messages pouring in from across the world for the feat, Guinness World Records says it’s yet to confirm Hilda’s new record.

In a tweet responding to a question by a social media user, Alexandra on why they haven’t made any official statement about the new record, it said that they are yet to review all the evidence.

“We are aware of this amazing record attempt. We need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record,” the tweet noted.
