While some celebrities are speaking out against police brutality or criticizing the government for the economic predicament, others are taking to the streets and joining #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest.
A number of Ghanaian celebrities have been spotted at the 37 Bus Terminal for day 2 of the protest.
Actor and politician John Dumelo, singer Kelvin Boy, and actress Andrea Owusu popularly known as Efia Odo, have joined the peaceful protest demanding the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rescue the country from the economic crisis.
Also, multiple award-winning rapper EL and Comedian Warris and SDK are also on the list of celebrities calling on the government to act.
Organized by the Democracy Hub, the protestors will march to the Jubilee House to register their frustrations at the untold hardships.
The protest which commenced on Thursday, September 21, was disrupted after the Police rounded up 49 of the organizers and locked them in police cells for unlawful assembly.
The protesters were rounded up at the 37 Bus Terminal, where they had assembled for the planned protest. The protesters were released late Thursday evening after extensive negotiations with the Police by their lawyers.
The leadership of the Democracy Hub has vowed to continue their protest despite the arrest of some participants and alleged intimidation by the police.
