Famous musician Sarkodie, whose real name is Michael Owusu Addo, has endorsed Guru in his bid to lead the University of Ghana’s Students’ Representative Council (SRC) as president.
On Friday, May 24, 2024, Sarkodie used his performance at Pent Hall Week Artiste Night to persuade students to vote for Guru.
He said that the school will improve under Guru’s direction and that more creatives would have more opportunities in the school.
“If you want me to come here again then make Guru the President of the SRC,” he said indicating that he knows Guru and he will make a good leader.
Guru thus joins several public figures who have vied for political positions in their various institutions.
The ”Pooley” rapper is hoping to lead the student body of the University of Ghana. If he wins, he will join Samini as another musician to lead a student body after Samini led the SRC at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
