Shatta Wale, a reggae/dancehall musician, and Medikal, a colleague in the industry, are due back in court later today.
On October 26, 2021, the two were granted ¢100,000 bail each on separate counts.
After being declared sought by the police, the dancehall king, Charles Nii Armah Mensah turned himself up.
He allegedly made up a tale about being shot and undergoing treatment, which turned out to be a hoax.
He pleaded not guilty to the allegation of disseminating false news and inducing fear and panic when he appeared in court on Thursday, October 21.
The ‘My Level’ singer, on the other hand, was remanded in custody for one week.
Medikal, real name Samuel Adu Frimpong, on the other hand, was apprehended by the police for brandishing a firearm on social media.
Despite pleading not guilty to the allegation of unlawful display of arms and ammunition, the rapper was remanded in custody for five days by an Accra Circuit Court on October 22.
They were granted bail and ordered to appear in court on November 9 by an Accra Circuit Court on October 26.
Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Idris Yusif, and Eric Venator, Shatta Wale’s coconspirators, were also given bail.
