Kwame Baffoe Abronye, the Bono Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced that he has opted not to participate in the next special delegates conference of the party.

The Bono regional chairman listed a number of reasons in a letter dated August 20, 2023 for why he intends to boycott the congress, including claims of financial coercion.

“I’ve never solicited any money from any of the aspirants just to campaign for him or her.

“All constituency Chairmen and their Executives, including polling station executive in their Bono Region, would testify that I have never engaged them to campaign for a particular candidate.” Mr. Abronye stated.

He continued: “Therefore, the said presidential aspirant spokesperson and his colleagues’ campaign coordinators who want to hijack the party, including other twin regions are lying.”
