UCC postpones 54th graduation date for 2021 final year students

The Management of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) says it has rescheduled the conduct of the 54th graduation ceremony (congregation for regular students) earlier slated for the previous date to mid-December, 2021.

“Kindly be informed that the 54th congregation (graduation for regular students) has been rescheduled to Thursday, December 16 to Saturday, December 18, 2021,” the University said in a statement.

In a related development, the Vice-President of Ghana, Dr. Bawumia has urged final year students graduating from tertiary institutions this year to start their own business to improve the development of the country’s economy.

Mr. Bawumia gave the advice in a speech read on his behalf by a Deputy Minister for Education, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, at the 13th congregation of the University of Mines And Technology (UMaT) in Tarkwa last Saturday.

“You are not only expected to be working in the public sector; you are equally expected to be drivers of the private sector. You should start your own business with knowledge gained from the training you have received, and employ others,” he said.

He said the role of graduates in the private sector would be instrumental to the growth of the country and reminded them that as fresh graduates, they should know that grades and academic scores might not matter after school.

Dr. Bawumia on behalf of the Deputy Education Minister, John Ntim further advised the graduating students to take advantage of all opportunities that would come their way and position themselves to be relevant to society.

“You should develop such positive traits as hard work, honesty, dedication, trustworthiness and humility,” President Nana Akufo-Addo right-hand man told graduating students of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT).
