Rapper Meek Mill has deleted the music video he posted which was shot at the Jubilee House in Ghana.

On late Sunday, January 8, 2023, the celebrated American rapper posted an Instagram reel announcing that he was set to release a new track.

It turns out that portions of the said video were shot in and around the Jubilee House during his visit.

He was seen in different places at the presidency, from the frontage, through the main corridors, in the main conference hall – at a point positioned behind the presidential lectern – and later in a sitting area rapping.

The music video stirred a huge uproar from sections of the Ghanaian populace who criticised the government for allowing such sensitive areas to be filmed for a music video.

After suffering hefty backlash, the rapper has so far deleted the video.

The snippet, which was about 46 seconds long, was shared with the caption: “NOT INDUSTRY POWERED” we make the narrative GHANAAAAAAA🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭 I felt like a king there!! “All real footage” “power rap”@nick_papz @fridayy at the “presidential villa”

Most of the people who shared an opinion on the video questioned how he was given the authorization to do such a thing when the Jubilee House is known to be a security zone, where pictures cannot even be taken.

Others have questioned whether this means that any musician in Ghana can now grab their camera and head to the Jubilee House for a video shoot because it seems as though the floodgates have been opened.

The office of the President is yet to respond to all of the criticisms, but for the time being, a number of social media users think Meek Mill’s decision to remove the video was the right thing to do.

The American rapper performed for the large crowd that had gathered at the event grounds on December 29, 2022, while he was in Ghana for the Afro Nation music festival.
